Meantime, float above the fray, repudiate the statement if necessary (which, unless I misread it, was a mild repudiation). Lather, rinse, repeat.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Clark and Obama planned it to occur on successive days.

P.S. And another thing: all this talk about how this means Clark’s prospects for VP are finished — excuse me, but WTF? I think it’s equally possible that he now has a mortal lock on the position.
