Partisan Pressturbation

We should all hope that the public adolescents, whose job is to tell us what we should be paying attention to, are at least temporarily satiated by the sputtering climax to the Blago/Obama affair. If there has ever been such a complete and uniform display of the narcissism, vapidity and utterly squandered mission of the American press corps, I haven’t seen it.
Having quietly feasted their ids on the grotesque pornography they have witnessed these last eight years, they now loudly come en masse to Barack Obama being forced to strip for their pleasure, revealing “every contact” with an Illinois governor’s office which we have known for weeks resulted in the President-elect offering “nothing but appreciation.”
This is and always has been a press story. Erected, stroked and enjoyed by the press (with the help of their Republican fluffers, of course), purely for their own amusement and perhaps the soiling of a Democratic President-elect. In stark contrast to the dirty Republican scum concealed by the press, they knew all along that the answers to all of the relevant questions exonerated Obama, even as they debased him with their sticky, self-affirming issue.
Disgusting.
