Bishop Gene Robinson

So here’s the thing: what do you mean when you call him “an openly gay Episcopal bishop?” For example, if I’m waiting for him to arrive at my house for Shabbat dinner (not a likely event on so many levels) what am I supposed to expect?

Turns out he’s way cool:

JON STEWART: So how was it today, a front row to history?

BISHOP ROBINSON: It was amazing, being about 30 feet from the President as he was sworn in, it was an astounding honor.

STEWART: Can I ask you, Washington was so crowded, there’s so many people, you as a bishop are sort of doubly handicapped, only being able to move diagonally, how is that (laughter), how is that negotiating the crowds?

BISHOP: Jon, you have to understand — there’s a Queen on the board as well (laughter, cheering, hooting, applause).
