Suze Orman: The Avenging Angel of CNBC
Lots of people love to knock Suze Orman because she’s so over the top. They laugh because Kristen Wiig does her with such devastating accuracy. They hold their nose because she’s a regualar on Oprah. They laugh at her clothes, her set (recently redesigned) and some even snark that she’s got no viewers because she’s on CNBC (they’re wrong — her ratings are off the charts).
But I’ll tell you what: these people have never listened to her advice — nor have they followed it. Because if we had followed her advice, this country wouldn’t have borrowed ourselves into insolvency.
Now, she peels the bark off the people who got us into this mess:
Sitting in a green room after her TV interviews, she lambasts everyone from Alan Greenspan to Larry Summers to the former president of the United States, who holds an especially dark place in her heart.
“Commander in Chief?” she says of George W. Bush, with a mix of disbelief and scorn. “You blew up every single financial vessel we had and if you think you aren’t personally responsible, well, the blame starts at the top. There is no higher top than you, SIR!
“If I were you, I would feel so absolutely horrific that I would take every penny I had and distribute it to anybody and everybody to help them in whatever way I could. You owe the American people every penny of your fortune and your family’s fortune.”
Make no mistake: when Suze Orman talks, there are a whole lot of people — middle class women and political independents chief among them — who listen and take her words to heart.
One Suze Orman is worth 50 Jim Cramers.
