  1. I always thought the diary system was bogus, and too easy to rigg. When I actually was an Arbitron diarist for a week, I confirmed it. This is much better.

    Think about it. Most radio listeners tune in during drive time — while DRIVING. Can’t fill in a survey then, so you just do it by memory. If you’re scanning the band, you aren’t going to be accurate, at least with the exact time you went from one station to the other when you fill it out later. AND, while you’re scanning, you KNOW you’re doing a diary that week, so you consciously scan w/an eye towards ratings and not your whimsical preferences.

    With that PPM, you might forget you’re a diarist for a bit, maybe, and you will be much more accurate about timing.
