Can Anyone Answer This Simple Question?
Obama on the public option for health care plan:
“Why would it drive private insurers out of business?…If they tell us they’re offering a good deal, then why is it that the government, which they say can’t run anything, suddenly is going to drive them out of business? That’s not logical.”
Well?
P.S. That said, are we headed for a compromise wherein the government sets up a series of national co-operatives for handling the public option? Is that the compromise that the Senate Republicans finally go for? Because if the White House wants 60+ votes on whatever they pass in the Senate, that would seem to be it.
