But it is true that you could take speeches that Herbert Hoover gave in 1932 and speeches that Barack Obama has given in 2011 and they look awfully similar. It’s very depressing.
Because I want Obama to succeed, I think he’s a good man, but somehow he’s turned into the second coming of Herbert Hoover.

Let’s not forget that, in FDR’s day, Hooverites represented the right-wing on economic policy. Now the right-wing is dominated by people who would do away with the Federal Reserve and let the country default on its debts. Hooverism is the new center of American (and international) economic policy.
